YOUTH FITNESS CAMPS

Both of my girls liked the Youth Fitness Camp and would do it again.  They specifically liked the coaches and being able to work in the weight room.  They said it was fun!  One of my daughters liked how the coaches modified for her and I definitely appreciated the help with her.  I also appreciated how seriously the coaches took COVID. I also thought the communication was awesome – best of any camp I’ve ever sent my girls to!

The Youth Fitness camp has been a great camp for my daughter.  She plays soccer and basketball and we have seen improvements in her stamina at practices since starting this camp along with doing a running program.  She really has liked being in class with Coach Taylor and Coach Courtney.  She thinks they are great coaches!

Our Winter Youth Fitness Camps are SAFE, educational and fun! These camps include speed, agility, body awareness, coordination, balance, and body weight movements progressing into using a PVC pipe for weightlifting movements.  Each class is 25 minutes of speed/agility/footspeed and 25 minutes of strength and conditioning.  Kids Fit ALWAYS ends with a FUN GAME!  The kids will leave TIRED!!  Our focus is on safety and technique. All camps are coached by our experienced Performance Coaches.

WINTER 1 & 2: Sports Performance (ages 10-12; 13+) - Glen Carbon

Our Winter Youth Fitness Camps are SAFE, educational and fun!  Sports Performance is for athletes 10-12 & 13+ who want to stay fit and build power, agility, speed, explosiveness, and strength for their sport.  The focus for this class is a combination of speed, power, and strength for any athlete.  Our coaches will focus on safety and proper form, building endurance, and improving strength and speed.  In this program we want to build a passion for working out & training whether your child wants to continue playing sports or they want to learn how to make fitness a priority in their life and the proper way to do that.  This class is a precursor to our Advanced Sports Performance class.  Athletes will be required to be evaluated in order to be moved up to the Advanced class.  Each class is 25 minutes of speed/agility/footspeed and 25 minutes of strength and conditioning.  Your athlete will leave TIRED!!  Our focus is on safety and technique. All camps are coached by our experienced Performance Coaches.

WINTER 1 & 2: Advanced Sports Performance (ages 13+) - Glen Carbon

Our Winter Advanced Sports Performance Camps are for serious athletes who are wanting to take their off season training to a new level! We focus on high-level speed, agility, power, and strength for athletes of any sport who intend to continue sports throughout high school and into college. This class is also great for teens who are serious about making fitness part of their life and wanting to be a better athlete in fitness.

NOTE:  Your athlete must meet at least one of the prerequisites to register for this camp:

  • Athlete has participated in a previous Sports Performance camp with The Annex or Youth Fitness
  • Athlete has previous experience in a gym setting

***If your athlete has not been a part of previous camps, but has experience, you will need to contact Crystal Gedris at crystal@eliteft.com to arrange an evaluation before your athlete can join this camp.

FALL: YOUTH FITNESS CAMP AT POWERHAUS
Youth Fitness powered by Elite FT is our NEW program that combines speed and strength to give the best of both in ONE class!  These classes include speed, agility, body awareness, coordination, balance, and body weight movements progressing into using a PVC pipe for weightlifting movements.  Our focus is on safety and technique.

SUMMER CAMPS: GLEN CARBON & O'FALLON
In the summer of 2020, we offered our FIRST Speed & Strength camps in both Glen Carbon & O’Fallon.  Our NEW program combined speed and strength to give the best of both in ONE hour!  Our summer camps included speed, agility, body awareness, coordination, balance, and body weight movements that progressed into using a PVC pipe for weightlifting movements.  Our advanced athletes were able to move from PVC pipes to using weight at the coaches discretion.  Safety and technique is our top priority!

We received lots of positive feedback from this all NEW program and the name Youth Fitness powered by Elite FT, encompassing Kids Fit (ages 6-9), Sports Performance (ages 10-12; ages 13+), and Advanced Sports Performance (ages 13+), was born.

HOW MANY GIRLS AND BOYS ARE IN EACH CLASS?

  • All classes are coed. There are 8-12 kids per trainer.

HOW LONG IS A CLASS?

  • Classes are 55 minutes

WHAT SHOULD MY CHILD WEAR?

  • Your child should wear comfortable/athletic-type clothing so they can move freely
  • Outdoor shoes are recommended on the turf; Molded plastic cleats/studs will work best for traction and enhance your experience.
  • Tennis shoes are ok for younger children.
  • Gym shoes or tennis shoes will also be needed in Glen Carbon for the Sports Performance and Advanced Sports Performance classes.  Athletes will have time to change shoes before starting in the gym.
  • NO metal cleats or studs allowed.

SHOULD WE CHECK-IN AT REGISTRATION EACH WEEK?

  • Yes, please. We keep attendance each week. Check-in each time.

WHEN CAN MY CHILD BEGIN ATTENDING CLASSES?

  • With our new class and membership schedule you child can start anytime
  • You are able to purchase a class package or a membership the same day you begin
  • Online registration is preferred
  • Should you need assistance, please arrive 15 minutes prior to the start of the class you wish to register for
  • We accept cash, check or credit/debit cards on site.

HOW DO I KNOW IF MY CHILD IS ELIGIBLE FOR ADVANCED SPORTS PERFORMANCE?

  • If you would like your child to be in advanced sports performance, one of our performance coaches will do an evaluation with you and your athlete to determine their readiness for this higher level class

WHAT TRAINING DO YOUR COACHES RECEIVE?

  • To ensure the best experience for our program participants, staff training is our top priority
  • Our ongoing staff education program is called The Elite Way! This program is designed to ensure our entire staff is engaged in identical training methods and philosophies
  • Our program creates a training style similar to the KNVB (coach’s education program in Holland).
  • All coaches teach the same style, so regardless of which trainer, they are teaching The Elite Way!

WHAT IS YOUR POLICY REGARDING CHILDREN WITH SPECIAL NEEDS?

  • Children with special needs are always welcomed in our program. as long as we are equipped to assist them accordingly.

  • Yes, please. We would like your child to wear it each week.

DO YOU OFFER PRIVATE TRAINING?

CAN MY ATHLETE ATTEND MORE THAN ONCE A WEEK?

  • Yes. Our Youth Fitness Membership allows your child to train unlimited in our Kids Fit or Sports Performance classes at either of our locations in her/his age-appropriate class.
